FILMMAKING
For three years, I was the primary cinematographer and digital video editor for the Program Division of the Auburn Avenue Research Library. In that time, I filmed and edited dozens of lectures, community discussions and book signings. I often manned two or three cameras at a time, on my own, sometimes using my own personal equipment. In 2012, I created a short documentary film in recognition of Women's History Month. The film was met with great reviews and I've been working to complete a new project since then.
Since leaving Auburn Avenue, I've continued my passion for videography by editing programs and events for other library systems and non-profit organizations. I've also successfully created two commercials, one of which was screened for two months on all 24 screens of the AMC Movie Theaters in Morrow, Georgia in 2019 and the other screened at several Clayton County Commissioner sponsored "Movies in the Park" summer events..
My latest project, examines the lives of African American librarians from past to present. It will be an in depth look at the obstacles librarians of color have overcome and the challenges we are still facing. I'd like to present the best possible project and am in need of a few key pieces of equipment. I've already proven I can create a powerful film with little to no resources and self-taught skill, but this time, with your help, I can present a high quality, professional looking product.
Please take a look at my Amazon Wish List, here. Yes, some of the items are a bit expensive (it's a wish list after all), but they will be used not only for my pending documentary, but in the library system I work for as well.

In addition to film making, I am also a budding photographer. I shoot in a variety of portrait, commercial and editorial styles. See examples below.
